Planetarium visit in KS1

Posted on Friday 20th January 2023

What an exciting day we have had in year 1/2. We had a visit from the planetarium this morning, the children entered the huge dome that was completely dark and immersed us all into a wonderful experience about the universe!

It was an incredible way to learn about the wonders of space, the children were able to ask lots of interesting questions. We even found out how astronauts brush their teeth, make a sandwich and even go to the toilet in space!

This afternoon the children have watched the livestream from the international space station in celebration of Buzz Aldrin's 93rd birthday. We have watched the 84th American space walk live in our classrooms. We have discussed all of the facts we learnt today in our planetarium and our topic learning.  We even made and designed our own birthday cards for Buzz!

What a great Friday!

Have a space joke-

Q: What is a spaceman’s favorite chocolate?
A: A marsbar
